Rock Shoe for Piles

Patent Abstract

A rock shoe of a pile wherein the perimeter focus design comprises a plurality of steel shafts and steel stiffener plates with multi tips or apexes located along the perimeter of the pile shoe provides further improved keying effect and thereby provides a better contact over a larger angle of unevenness and also serves to prevent the formation of a densified soil pyramid which may hinder the successful keying of the pile shoe.

  • In cases where the rock strata is highly uneven/sloping, such as locations with limestone or fractured granite, typical conventional rock shoes will be ineffective as their tip doesn’t effectively embed itself in the rock. The K-Shoe can key itself into the rock in any rock strata condition, which results in a lesser chance of pile toe slippage.
